How To Make a Refreshing Citrus Linen Spray

Store-bought room fresheners and sprays are full of chemicals, artificial scents, and synthetic fragrances.

I love making my own products, because I can control what goes into the ingredients, and I can also customize the scent that I want.

While I often use a lavender linen spray for my bedroom, I also like uplifting and refreshing scents.

For this spray, you can choose what citrus scent you want, or mix citrus oils, including grapefruit, clementine, or lemon. The Young Living brand also makes a “citrus fresh” scent.

  • Distilled Water: You can easily find this at your local grocery store, or you can distill some at home . I usually use about a cup.
  • Citrus Essential Oil: About 15-20 drops should be sufficient, but you can adjust the strength.
  • A Glass Spray Bottle: I prefer glass as they are more sustainable choice and last longer.
  • Witch Hazel or Alcohol: This helps the water and oil to mix properly. Around two tablespoons should suffice. If you are a fellow fan of witch hazel, you can use that. Or if you can’t find any, rubbing alcohol also works just as well.

How To Make Your Citrus Spray

Now that we have everything ready, let’s dive into making our very own lavender linen spray. Trust me, it’s as easy as pie!

  1. Mix the ingredients: Pour water into your spray bottle.
  2. Add the citrus essential oil, followed by witch hazel or alcohol.
  3. Shake well! You want all of your ingredients to be mixed thoroughly.
  4. Test the scent: Give it a spray to test the scent. You can adjust the strength and the scent.
  5. Spray: Now you can spray this on your linens.

So quick and easy! And much healthier than traditional linen sprays.

No worries about chemicals on your bed and on your skin.

This spray is uplifting and refreshing. A great way to make your bedroom smell amazing!
